The Monday Poll: 2012 Sequels

by flickr user stockerre
Good morning, Hub readers!

Last week we asked who your favorite non-human sidekick was. There were a lot of great options–as Annie and Maria pointed out in the comments–but someone has to win, and that someone was Manchee from The Knife of Never Letting Go with 40% of the vote. (Pantalaimon from the His Dark Materials trilogy made a good second-place showing, though!) You can view the results of all of our previous polls in the Polls Archive. Thanks to all of you who voted!

While today Kelly brings us resources for finding great books by debut authors in 2012, we here at The Hub have also been thinking about which of our favorite series are going to see new installments next year, and we want to know what you’re most excited about! Vote in the poll below, and leave a comment if we’ve omitted a sequel you’re really psyched to read!

Which 2012 sequel or series installment are you most excited about?

  • Bitterblue (companion to Fire and Graceling by Kristen Cashore) (38%, 51 Votes)
  • Insurgent (sequel to Divergent by Veronica Roth) (29%, 39 Votes)
  • Unwholly (sequel to Unwind by Neal Shusterman) (15%, 20 Votes)
  • Pandemonium (sequel to Delirium by Lauren Oliver) (10%, 14 Votes)
  • Out of Sight, Out of Time (final book in the Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter) (9%, 12 Votes)

Total Voters: 135

It’s truly unfair only letting us pick one!!

    • I agree. There are several on that list that I am waiting desperately to read.

  2. I can’t even handle my excitment for Bitterblue. I just LOVE those books so much. SO MUCH!

    • I think that’s especially exciting since it looked like the book wasn’t going to be published for a while. I’m glad we’ll get to see this third installment after all!

Yeah, I can’t choose just one!

Two that weren’t listed I’m really excited for are Spark (the sequel to Amy Kathleen Ryan’s Glow) and Rebel Hearts (the sequel to Moira Young’s Blood Red Road).

  5. I’m most excited for Insurgent, but I would say Fever (sequel to Wither) by Lauren DeStefano is one to look out for, too. I read the ARC and it is just as amazing as book 1 in the Chemical Garden Trilogy. So many awesome books, so little time… :)
