The Monday Poll: Fighting a Villain

by flickr user Loren Javier
Good morning and happy new year, dear readers!

Last week we asked who the coolest nerd in YA lit was, and–not surprisingly!–Hermione Granger absolutely dominating, taking 74% of the vote. Characters from the Harry Potter universe always do so well! You can see the result of this and any of our previous polls in the archive.

At the end of October, we asked who your favorite villain was (Voldemort won that one). This week, we have a slightly different question: which villain from YA lit would you least like to face off against? And to give everyone else a fair shot, this time Voldemort isn’t an option! Vote in the poll below, and if we’ve left off your greatest nightmare of an opponent, let us know in the comments!

Which villain would you least like to face off against?

  • Dolores Umbridge (Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling) (32%, 25 Votes)
  • President Snow (The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins) (28%, 22 Votes)
  • Leck (Graceling by Kristin Cashore) (28%, 22 Votes)
  • Marisa Coulter (His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman) (12%, 9 Votes)

Total Voters: 78

  1. A tough one! I like that these villains are all very crafty–which makes them super dangerous.

  2. Maria Kramer Maria Kramer

Leck, all the way. He can control your mind with his voice so that you don’t even remember him hurting you…brrrrrrr…
