The Monday Poll: Most-Anticipated Fall Sequel

by flickr user Guillermo Galan
Good morning, Hub readers!

Last week we asked which boarding school from YA lit you’d do anything to get out of. It was a pretty close race, but Hecate Hall (from Rachel Hawkins’s Hex Hall series) finally pulled into the lead with 27% of the vote. Following in second and third place were the Ault School (from Curtis Sittenfeld’s Prep) and Maxfield Academy (from Robison Wells’s Variant) with 18% of the vote each. You can see detailed results for all of our previous polls in the Polls Archive. Thanks to all of you who voted!

Rosh Hashanah was this weekend and the equinox is on Saturday, so we’re thinking fall here at The Hub. This week, we want to know which fall sequel you’re most anticipating. Vote in the poll below, or leave a comment if we didn’t include a sequel coming out this fall that you’re dying to read!

My most anticipated fall sequel release is The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin.

  2. Meredith Meredith

I can’t wait for Shadows by Ilsa J Bick and Outpost by Ann Aguirre!

  3. Erin Daly Erin Daly

I’d have voted for Quintana of Charyn, but I checked on it on the Baker & Taylor site the other day and it looks like it’s been pushed back to March. This saddens me.

Just finished listening to Daughter of Smoke and Bone, so I’m getting excited for Days of Blood and Starlight.

Speaking of sequels, the third Jonathan Maberry book in the Benny Imura series, Flesh & Bone, came out last week. It was as good as its predecessors!

    • Aw, boo! I didn’t realize it’d been pushed back. I’d remove it from the poll, but a few people have already voted for it, so I’ll let it stand. You can look forward to seeing it again in another poll when the actual release date approaches!

I’m guessing Rebel Heart by Moira Young, not Red Heart, was intended? (The second book in the Dustlands series?).

I also would have voted for Shadows by Bick and Outpost by Aguirre….but Orson Scott Card is my favourite author of all time, and anytime I get a new book from him is happiness defined!

    • Oh, argh, yes, I did mean Rebel Heart! It’s fixed — thanks!

  5. Definitely REACHED by Ally Condie! Loved MATCHED, thought CROSSED didn’t have enough action, but did a lot of setting up for what I hope is an amazing end to the trilogy!

  6. Michelle Blank Michelle Blank

The fantasy geek in me can’t wait for Cinda Williams Chima’s Crimson Crown!
