The Monday Poll: Adult Fiction Author You’d Love to See Write a YA Book

Good morning, Hub readers!Monday Poll @ YALSA's The Hub

Last week, we asked which book you’d most like to assign for summer reading. Your top pick was The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie with 31% of the votes, followed by Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein with 25%.

You can see detailed results for all of our previous polls in the Polls Archive. Thanks to all of you who voted and commented last week!

For this week’s poll, we’re asking about what author who typically writes for the adult market you’d love to see tackle a YA novel. It seems more and more that many authors are crossing into YA fiction. Just this month, it was announced that my dreams are coming true, and Roxane Gay will have a YA novel out in 2017. There are so many more adult authors that I’d love to see write for y0ung adult audiences! Choose from this list or feel free to add your own suggestion in the comments.

  1. She’s not as well-known as these authors, but I am a HUGE fan of N.K. Jemisin, and I would be over the moon if she wrote something YA. She does such an amazing job of tackling big ideas while still writing great characters, intricate worlds, and exciting plots. I’d love to see what she could bring to YA lit.
